Why it matters who wires it
Most solar problems are electrical problems.
Panels are the easy part. What decides whether a system is safe and still working in fifteen years is everything behind them — conductor sizing, the service and panel it ties into, the disconnects, the rapid-shutdown equipment and the labelling an inspector will actually look for.
That is electrical work, and it is why a master electrician should be the one doing it rather than a subcontracted crew who will not be here next year.

Before you sign anything
Five questions worth asking any solar company.
Ask us these too. If a company will not answer them plainly, that tells you something.

Who actually does the work?
Is it the company you signed with, or a crew subcontracted out? Ask who holds the licence and who you call in year three.

Can my service even take it?
Interconnection depends on your existing panel and service size. If nobody has looked at your panel, nobody has quoted the real job.

What is the production estimate based on?
Your roof, your orientation and your shading — or a generic average. The difference shows up on every future bill.

What is warranted, and by whom?
Panels, inverter and workmanship are usually three separate warranties from three separate parties. Get all three in writing.

What do the incentives actually come to?
Credits and utility programs change. Ask what applies right now, in writing, and confirm the tax side with your accountant rather than a salesperson.

Production dropped off, inverter faulting, the installer has gone quiet or gone under. Bring us the system you already own — diagnosing and repairing it is ordinary electrical work for us.
